Write Club Prompt #76

Modern cinema. A thing I most revile but why? Cinema has always sought to appeal to the masses and is always trying for the newest technology. Even as a gimmick to bring in audiences. Cinema has always been a business and it is only rare exceptions that can make something truly artful. Even rarer when that art turns a profit. A lot of people will tell you the classics are better. That’s just the greatest hits from several decades. Most years don’t have any great movies. Big spectacles are what Hollywood cinema is really about.

That’s the best defense I can muster for Hollywood. I still think the whole business is pretty rotten but writing this made me realize it is rotten in a human way.
