My game theory days taught me to make a decision matrix for making decisions. It’s strange how little this helps with actually big, one-off, decisions. Unless the decision is iterative then I like to think about things very carefully then just go with my gut. Sometimes thinking things through will reveal new dimensions. Like getting a loan vs. cash payment. It’s not as simple as it may seem. Then again in that case my gut proved itself right after all that analysis.
