My father's job doesn't even exist anymore. He was a payphone repairman in NYC.

That's cool. I have a friend who used to install the wiretaps on the payphones as part of his job. Whenever I see an intact payphone I always check if it has a dial tone. Ironically the last working one that I found was located in a cemetery of all places

NYC has those creepy kiosk things though now. Where you can look up all kinds of things… on the public street corner…

Nice poem! Yeah, not having one is a kind a performance art now. But it makes an impact.

Btw, you may consider adding a divider between your last line of the poem and the prose. Currently, they run together when perhaps they weren’t meant too.
