Oh Floreana—would be Eden welcome your guests! Who among them will win your heart? Self proclaimed Adam and Eve toothless philosophers, fruitless, in pain Wild baroness in a triangle manifests a false paradise manipulating love for her fame Run away family fleeing begging of you sanctuary from a world in flame Unforgiving islands save only strong the fit will survive Floreana—silent—watches on
This poem was inspired by the movie Eden. I was fortunate to see an early screening this week and was blown away by what I saw. I’ve seen a lot of negative reactions to it and I think that’s because the movie grapples with the most base aspects of human nature. It’s not and easy movie to watch but if you’re ready for it, it really packs a punch.
You piqued my interest, Daniel. Now I have to watch it. Thank you.
Cinema always blends itself seamlessly to Poetry. Thanks for sharing, Daniel! Interested to see this film at some point. Ron Howard is an incredible director!
