The first couch I ever bought was a total disaster. It looked good at first. Nice red leather. Perfect for my bachelor pad. Then the fake leather started cracking. Not even six months after I had it. I tried repair methods with some success but the cheap leather continued to crack and peel. Eventually I gave up and purchased a slip cover. Beneath the cover the cheap couch continued its deterioration and flaked plastic leather on the carpet.
Not too long ago I resigned myself to buying a new couch. This one is a simple grey affair. I keep towels on it to guard it against the cat that likes to sleep on it all afternoon.
