In the Daylight

Write Club Prompt #87

It’s around dusk now and the clouds are taking on that golden hue. So are the tall buildings off in the distance. I should probably get out there for a walk and enjoy the sunset a little.

There’s a few birds jumping around in a tree. One, the dove, flew off. Some of these trees are getting the first buds of new leaves. Soon they will all be full of leave again and the city will be green. I’m reminded of how much I love this time of year. Getting to see the world transform and become pretty again.

Today was mostly gray, cold, and cloudy. I’m glad I had this moment to appreciate the late afternoon with its clear sky.

The lights are already on in the neighbors house. I should probably close the blinds now.
