Write Club Prompt #75

While I really like kids, I don’t think I’d ever want to be in front of a classroom speaking to them. It’s a bit much. Luckily one of my best friends is an elementary school teacher. He’s a seasoned pro and the first thing I would do is give him a call. Given my love of reading I think that’s what I would focus my talk on.

My presentation. I think when it comes to kids you can’t lecture. You have to get them in conversation and find out what they are ready to talk about. I’d want to know what some favorite books are. What kind of stories they like. What places they want to visit. I’d hope to communicate the magic that books have that can take you anywhere and teach you anything about life. And even if the kids only want to play on their phones book based social media is alive an well.
