Test of Time
He watched the old movies he read the old books a past heading for a future he though it was obvious Seeing where it started knowing where it would go How strange the world feels now note like the past at all so confused and chaotic nothing obvious In twenty years he will look back he will watch and read again and wonder why what happened seems so obvious
Sometimes when I watch old movies or read old books I get this sense that history is just flowing along. Then I compare it to today and the present seems like such a wild ride.
Yeah, people really should history more 🤣
Not only does it give you perspective but there were some crazy times. Like the 1960s in general, drafts and the like.
I'm not saying things are perfect now, they are perhaps worse in more existential ways, but we've come a long way still.
