“Did you have a really beat up pair of shoes as a kid?”
“Yeah, everybody did. You weren’t cool unless your shoes were falling apart.”
“ I think our parents psyoped us, dude.”
“What do you mean"?”
“I mean think about it. Shoes cost money. Parents all acting like old beat up shoes were cool means we didn’t ask for new shoes ever. They practically begged us to get new shoes.”
“You’re right. I never thought about that.”
“One year I was so happy because I fit into a pair of my brothers old sneakers. I wore those things out. Totally flat soles by the end. My parents must have loved that. Those shoes lasting for two kids.”
