Write Club Prompt #4
Dear Diary
April 8
It was strange today. The two women walking in front of me were having the same conversation over and over again. At least I think they were. They weren’t speaking English but the words sounded like they were repeating and the hand gestures were all the same. I’ve never seen anything else like that.
April 9
More weird things today. I went to get some coffee and the two people in front of me gave the same order. The barista didn’t even react. She just made the same drinks twice. I got a blank look when I ordered my cold brew but she snapped out of it and got me my drink.
April 12
I went out last night with some friends. No one spoke about anything that happened since March. Must have been a slow few weeks. I think it’s more though. Something in the world feels different.
April 13
There most be some kind of bug on YouTube. All of my usual channels have the same videos reposted. I’m actually becoming a little paranoid that the world is repeating. It sounds crazy but with all the weird stuff going on I’m getting concerned.
April 16
Something is seriously wrong. With YouTube being weird I tried watching some TV and the news has been repeating. The same broadcasts come on and cycle around. It’s like the whole world is looping around. Only the dates change. I’ve called friends and family. No one else seems to have noticed or even seem concerned. At least no one thinks I’m crazy.
May 25
It has been more than a month now. Nothing new has happened. Just an endless repetition. My best theory is that no one is forming new memories. I’m the only one left. I’ve decided to head out across the country and try to find out what is happening out there.
